Under the new testing parameters, a conforming ball is limited to roughly 317 (±3) yards at a swing speed of 127 mph, an 11° launch angle and 2,250 rpm of backspin: a noticeably tighter envelope than the previous standard, aimed squarely at the decades-long creep in driving distance at the top of the game.
