Chrome Tour Triple Diamond Posted a 0.5-Point Compression Symmetry — and Still Only Scored 94

MyGolfSpy's Ball Lab found zero defects in 36 balls, then marked it down on weight and diameter at $57.99* (£43.81) a dozen

MyGolfSpy's Ball Lab has published its teardown of the 2026 Callaway Chrome Tour Triple Diamond, awarding it 94 out of 100 and an A grade. The headline number is a median compression symmetry of 0.5 points against a field average of 1.9 — among the best results the lab has recorded in that category.

What the lab actually measured

Ball Lab is not a performance test. It measures weight, diameter, compression, roundness and balance across 36 balls drawn from three separate boxes, and reports both the averages and the spread. The point is manufacturing consistency: a ball that compresses differently from one shot to the next will behave differently from one shot to the next, regardless of what the box claims. On that measure the Triple Diamond did well. Good Ball Rate came in at a perfect 100 per cent with zero defects across all 36 balls, and compression consistency ranked inside the top 10 of the 121 balls in MyGolfSpy's database, graded A-. The ball is a four-piece urethane model made at Callaway's own facility in Chicopee, Massachusetts, sitting above the standard Chrome Tour and Chrome Tour X in the range.

Where the six points went

Weight consistency and diameter consistency both graded B. MyGolfSpy singled out box three as running lighter and less consistent than the other two, and noted that diameter consistency was solid rather than standout for a ball at this price point. Those two B grades are the only thing keeping the score out of the high 90s. That is the honest reading: excellent core consistency, ordinary dimensional consistency, at $57.99* (£43.81) per dozen. A golfer buying three boxes could plausibly get one that behaves slightly differently from the other two — small, but not nothing at the top of the price ladder.

What this means if you're choosing a ball

Quality scores tell you whether a ball is built to spec. They do not tell you whether it suits your swing. The Triple Diamond is explicitly an extra-firm, high-ball-speed, lower-spin ball aimed at the top of the speed range — a 94/100 build score is irrelevant to a golfer who needs more spin or a softer compression to get the ball airborne the way they want. That split is the whole reason BallFIT exists. We're brand-agnostic and we don't sell balls; we match a model to your delivery numbers. Use independent lab data like this to check a ball is well made, then fit the characteristics to your own game rather than to a grade on someone else's scorecard.

What “Verified Data” means

The figures inside a Verified Data panel are checked against a named, public source — a retail listing, a press release, an independent test — before they are published, and we link to that source directly. They are not the same as a manufacturer’s own performance claims, which we report as claims, in the body text, until an independent test confirms them. If a number carries the badge, you can check it yourself at the source link below the panel; if it doesn’t, treat it as reported rather than verified. KaddieIQ is not paid by any equipment brand and sells no clubs or balls.
